IGP quarters compound damaged as car rams into it

Mysuru: A driver of an Indica car, who lost control of the vehicle, has rammed the car into the compound of Inspector General of Police (IGP) quarters near Chamundi Vihar Stadium in Nazarbad last night.

The Indica car (KA-09 C-0235), which was coming from the stadium side, rammed into the compound of the quarters damaging a portion of the compound. There were three youths including the driver in the car who were drunk and all of them are the residents of Gandhinagar in city, it is learnt. Luckily, no loss of life has been reported.

IGP (Southern Range) Vipul Kumar, who was in his quarters when the incident took place, called the Police Control Room and registered a complaint.

Nazarbad Police, who rushed to the spot, took custody of the three youths. One among the three youths, who tried to flee was caught by Head Constable Lingappa. A case has been registered at Nazarbad Police Station in this regard.
