Mysore/Mysuru: K. Gopinath, Technical staff working in Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMRC), University of Mysore (UoM), has got two national awards for the documentary film of ‘The First Flight’ in the 24th CEC-UGC Educational Video Festival organised by Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC), New Delhi.
‘The First Flight’ documentary film has won the Best Cinematography and Best Video Editing in the category of Technical excellence award. The award consists of memento, certificate and cash prize of Rs. 25,000 each. This film consists of the life cycle of the Indian Grey Hornbill bird [21 minutes, English language and it has taken two years to make this documentary].
The film festival and award ceremony will be held at Osmania University, Hyderabad, from Apr. 27 to 29.
Another documentary film ‘Tulasi – Encyclopedia of the Forest’ has also been recommended for citation at the same fest. This documentary consists of the biography of environmentalist Padma Shri Tulasi Gowda. Prof. H. Rajashekar, Director of EMRC, supported in making the documentary films.
