June 22, 2021

Mysore/Mysuru: Asserting that only good quality education can bring about effective changes in the society, Deputy Chief Minister Dr. C.N. Ashwathnarayan, who is also the Higher Education Minister, said that the National Education Policy (NEP-2020)is the best bet to achieve this.

He was speaking after inaugurating the Rural COVID Care Centre at Saragur taluk in Mysuru district on Sunday.

Contending that education helps in solving most of the problems that the society is facing today, Dr. Ashwathnarayan lauded Swami Vivekananda Hospital for its contribution to rural health.

Complimenting Mysuru District in-charge Minister S.T. Somashekar for giving a big push to the comprehensive growth of Mysuru district, he said that it is heartening to note that SVYM Founder-President Dr. R. Balasubramaniam  has dedicated his entire life for public service.

Referring to the State’s preparedness for the predicted third wave of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic, the Deputy CM, who also Heads the State’s COVID Ministerial Task Force, said that necessary measures have been taken to tackle the dreaded virus. With the third wave expected to affect children the most, the Government has made all arrangements for treatment, hospitalisation and care of children, he stated.

Continuing, the Minister said 7,500 Medical, Nursing  and Paramedical staff  will be employed soon for tackling the predicted third wave. The Government is making consistent efforts to upgrade infrastructure in all Hospitals, including PHCs and Community Health Centres, as part of improving rural health service, he added.
