National-level Short Film Festival ‘ClNERAMA-2023’ on Mar. 10, 11

Mysore/Mysuru: The Department of Visual Communication, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Mysuru Campus, is organising ‘ClNERAMA -2023,’ a National-level Short Film Festival on Mar.10 and 11 at its premises in Bogadi II Stage here.

Dr. Nagathihalli Chandra-shekhar, Director, Actor, Screenwriter and Lyricist, will inaugurate the fest tomorrow at 9.30 am. Mandya Ramesh, Actor, Director and Theatre Personality will be the  chief guest.

Daali Dhananjaya, Actor, will be the chief guest for valedictory and award ceremony on Mar. 11  at 11.30 am. Vaishali Hanumanth and C.R. Hanumanth, Proprietors of DRC Cinemas, Mysuru will be the guests of honour.

Besides the competition, the fest comprises workshops and interaction with eminent resource persons from the Cinema industry. The sessions on “Film Marketing and Promotions” by Dr. Sangeetha Janachandran, Founder of Stories Social, Kochi and “Why Film Criticism Matters in the Age of Streaming” by Suchin Mehrotra, Film Journalist and Critic from Film Companion, Mumbai, are organised.

The fest aims to provide an exposure for students to showcase their talents and skills in short film making.

The winners of the event will be awarded with cash prizes. First Best Film – Rs. 10,000, Second Best Film – Rs. 7,000 and Third Best Film – Rs. 5,000.

Apart from best three films, special category to Best Director, Best Performer, Best Cinematographer and Best Editor of Rs. 4,000 each will be awarded.

Short films are invited from across the country from students to take part in this festival. Along with this, students are also invited to submit their mobile short films under Mobile Category started from this year to encourage the budding mobile film-makers.

For best mobile short film, first place will be awarded with Rs. 5,000 and Rs. 3,000 for second best mobile short film.
