National Lok Adalat in City Courts on Mar. 8

The first National Lok Adalat of this year (2025) will take place in all the City and District Law Courts tomorrow (Mar.8). Currently, there are 1,19,646 cases pending in the City and Taluk Courts of the District, out of which 60,391 are civil cases and 59,255 are criminal cases.

Of these, 32,189 cases are compoundable in nature, out of which 21,646 have been identified for resolution                                                      through compromise.  These cases (21,646 cases), which include 1,478 IMV (Indian Motor Vehicles Act) cases, 1,360 compoundable criminal cases, 5,011 NI (Negotiable Instruments) Act cases, 9,936 compoundable civil and criminal cases and 3,861 pre-litigation cases, will be taken up at the Lok Adalat tomorrow, according to a press release from the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA).
