National U-7 Girls Chess Championship: City’s Sara finishes fifth

Chess player from Mysuru, K.R. Sara, representing Karnataka in the 32nd National U-7 Girls Chess Championships-2018 which concluded at Tumakuru on Tuesday, drew her 11th and last round game against Daksha Rudra of West Bengal and with 8 points from 11 rounds, secured the fifth place.

Two players Lakshana Subramanian (TN) and K.A. Meenakshi (AP) tied with 10 points, but the former, with a better progressive tie-break score of 73 compared to Meenakshi’s 70.50, clinched the title.

Aishana Pathak (UP) and A. Anjana (TN) with 9 points finished third and fourth respectively.
