Mysuru: The Mysore Palace Board has announced restrictions on visitor entry to the Palace on certain dates during Dasara-2026 to facilitate Sharannavaratri rituals performed by members of the erstwhile Mysore Royal Family and for the smooth conduct of the Jumboo Savari.
The restrictions are as follows
Oct. 5: Entry restricted from 10 am to 1 pm for religious rituals connected with Sharannavaratri and the assembling of the Golden Throne.
Oct. 11: No entry from 10 am to 2 pm for the Private Durbar and religious ceremonies, including the scion of the Mysore Royal Family ascending the Throne.
Oct. 20: No entry throughout the day due to Mahanavami and Ayudha Puja at the Kalyana Mantap.
Oct. 21: No entry throughout the day on Vijayadashami when the Jumboo Savari procession will be held. Only visitors with valid Dasara passes and tickets will be allowed.
Nov. 19: Entry restricted from 10 am to noon for dismantling the Golden Throne and returning it to the strong room.
The schedule was issued in a statement by the Executive Officer of the Mysore Palace Board.
Sound and Light Show suspended
The Sound and Light Show held at the Mysore Palace from 7 pm to 8 pm will remain suspended from Oct. 5 to Nov. 1.
The suspension is due to ongoing Dasara-related works and cultural programmes being held at the Palace premises, according to a press release issued by Mysore Palace Board Deputy Director T.S. Subramanya.
