‘Navikotsava’ by Non-Resident Kannadigas in city on Aug.4, 5

Mysuru:  The Non-Resident Kannadigas from United States of America and other parts of the world are organising for the first time the two-day ‘Navakotsava’ in city on Aug.4 and 5 at Kalamandira.

The love for the mother tongue and the land has drawn the Kanndigas from around the world to come to the city and share their talents and expertise in front of their parents, grandparents, family members and friends whom they have left back, said Navikotsava Publicity Committee’s Padma Rao.

Addressing a media conference at Patrakartara Bhavan here yesterday, she said that the Non-Resident Kannadigas from United Kingdom, Singapore, Muscat, Switzerland and other parts are going to participate in cultural activities. This will be followed by Prof. Krishnegowda’s ‘Hasya Sanje’ (humour evening) and Mandya Ramesh’s troupe will stage the play ‘Kempu Kanagale,’ she added.

On Aug.5, Nadoja Nissar Ahmed will inaugurate the Navikotsava in the morning. Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji, Minister D.K. Shivakumar, actor Raghavendra Rajkumar, former Kannada Development Authority Chairman Mukyamantri Chandru and others will participate. In the valedictory to be held in the evening, MP Pratapa Simha and MLA S.A.Ramdas will take part, she said.

Business Meet

A Business Forum Meet has been jointly organised by State Non-Resident Kannadiga Forum and United States Indian American Association at Hotel Southern Star at 10 am.

Investors, industrialists and CEOs of companies from different parts of the globe will participate in the Forum.

Small Scale Industries Minister M.R. Srinivas and others will participate which will be followed by an interaction, said another member Smrithi Manoj.
