NCC cadets’ cleaning drive at Mysore Palace

Mysuru: The 14 Karnataka Bn NCC participated in the cleaning drive at Mysore Palace premises under Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan recently.

Around 200 NCC cadets from JSS College, Ooty Road, JSS College for Women, Saraswathipuram, Police Public School and Mahabodhi School and 10 staff of this unit participated in the event as part of social service and Community Development activities of NCC.

The cadets carried out cleaning of statues and premises of the Palace and collected waste.

The cadets also got an opportunity to see the marvel and beauty of the Palace and collected information about the History of Palace and Kings of Mysore and their contribution to the region. The activity served as both Educational Tour and Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan for the NCC cadets.  This initiative by NCC units was to generate interest among students and general public about the importance of joining NCC which serves as a stepping stone for the youths to participate in nation-building.
