February 15, 2021

Mysore/Mysuru: Watering a sapling by Colonel Rajesh Kumar, Commanding Officer, 13 KarBn NCC (National Cadet Corps), Mysuru, marked the inauguration of the NCC Unit of Seshadripuram Independent PU (SIPUC) and Seshadripuram Degree College (SDC), Mysuru, on Feb. 6 at the College Seminar Hall, to propagate national unity and integrity amongst youth.

H.S. Suhas, NCC Unit Officer, SIPUC and Faculty of Computer Science, delivered a welcome speech. Colonel Rajesh Kumar, who was the chief guest of the programme, expressed his happiness over the college for balancing both the curricular and co-curricular activities and preparing the students to serve the nation.

He apprised the Cadets about the role of NCC in instilling in them the values of character, discipline, selflessness, hardwork and ways to build confidence and gain leadership qualities.

He further opined that if young students had the desire to make NCC their career option, then being a NCC Cadet would hold a lot of weight as they would be directly associated with the Ministry of Defence. Finally, he motivated the Cadets to take pride in them and strengthen the spirit of being an Indian.

SIPUC Principal N. Archana Swamy and SDC Principal Prof. K. Sowmya Erappa spoke words of encouragement to the NCC Cadets and urged them to become dynamic and responsible citizens of our country.

SDC NCC Unit Officer and Faculty of Commerce R. Kumar proposed a vote of thanks.
