Nearly 1,500 people get employment with UNDP support

Mysore/Mysuru: The UNDP (United Nations Development Plan), in association with Magic Bus India, has helped nearly 1,500 economically backward  and  distressed people from all age groups in select districts of the State, to get employed. 

UNDP Karnataka State Chief Govindaraj Jayachandran said that the poor and marginalised sections of the society were the worst hit by COVID-19 crisis.Maintaining that the outbreak of the deadly pandemic brought untold misery to crores of poor families in the country, he said that Magic Bus India succeeded in getting jobs to 1,468 youths and other middle aged people of the State in private sector.

Pointing out that a target of providing jobs to 2,500 youths by Mar.31 has been set, he said that Magic Bus India works in association with UNDP,  KASSIA, Peenya Industries Association, Mysore Industries Association , MSMEs and other bodies.  Magic Bus India is a major partner of UNDP in this initiative, he added.
