Mysore/Mysuru: Members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) held a protest demanding stringent action against the perpetrator in the Neha murder case, at Gun House Circle in city, yesterday.
AVBP members holding banners shouted slogans demanding action against Fayaz, who allegedly stabbed Neha inside the BVV College premises in Hubballi and added such incidents had created a sense of fear among the girl students.
Questioning the Law and Order situation, the protesters said that it was important for the people to analyse the conditions prevailing in the State with a person having temerity to commit a heinous crime in the broad daylight.
The protesters, who demanded justice for Neha, urged the Police Department to depute personnel near the college to keep a vigil on anti-social elements and to prevent untoward incidents. “The State Government must analyse about the growing crimes rate in the State and initiate measures to control the Law and Order situation,” they said and added such incidents occur only when people have not fear towards the Law of the land. The students, who took part in the protest, also demanded for an CBI investigation into Neha murder case.
ABVP Convenor M Shivu, District Convenor Prajwal, City Secretary Aishwarya and members Triveni, Yashaswini, Deepika, Pooja, Namratha, Preetham, Adarsh, Abhijna and students of various colleges took part in the protest.
