July 31, 2022

Mysore/Mysuru: Maintaining that the National Education Policy-2020 (NEP) is supplemental for building a self-reliant India, Primary and Secondary Education Minister B.C. Nagesh said that the NEP will also help in making India a ‘Vishwa Guru’ (Global Leader).

He was speaking after inaugurating JSS Pre-University College for Girls at Bapuji Layout in Bogadi here on Friday.

Stating that the Government is introducing the Centre’s NEP-2020, Nagesh said that the JSS educational institutions are ahead of the Government in the implementation of NEP.

Asserting that the Centre is promoting desi form of education, he said that the move is to transform the educational sector which is still following the British system of education.

Noting that educational Institutions should have the necessary infrastructure to implement NEP, the Minister said that the new JSS PU College has a well-equipped lab and modern technology gadgets and equipment to deal with the necessities of modern day education.

Pointing out that JSS educational institutions have made a mark at the international level too, Nagesh observed that JSS must come forward for setting up a residential college in Mysuru.

‘Though the Indian societal system is built in an orderly manner, our society is still following the Macaulay system of education. Now the Centre has come up with the NEP taking into consideration the indigenous practices and ideas. The NEP is also based on the aspirations of the freedom fighters,’ he said. The Minister lauded the Suttur Mutt for imparting quality education to lakhs of students apart from providing shelter to them.
