New academic year to start from July 1

Bengaluru: The new academic year (2021-22) for schools in the State will start from July 1. 

Announcing this here yesterday, Primary and Secondary Education Minister S. Suresh Kumar said that all Government, aided and unaided Primary and High Schools in the State have been asked to start the admission process from June 15 and complete it by Aug. 31. He pointed out that the Government will shortly take a decision on whether to conduct physical or online classes depending upon the COVID situation then.

Referring to the issue of School fees, Suresh Kumar said that the fee issue concerning private schools is before the High Court, which will decide on the matter.

He further said that the new academic year (2021-22) will have 223 school days after deduction of summer holidays, Dasara holidays and other public holidays.
