Mysore/Mysuru: The new Office-bearers of Mysuru Travels Association were elected at the Association’s Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) (2023-24) held at a private resort in Kapila Riverfront near Hullahalli in Nanjangud taluk yesterday.
The new office-bearers elected were — B.S. Prashanth (President), David Raj (Vice- President), K. Manjunath (Secretary), K.C. Raghavendra (Joint Secretary), C. Arun Kumar (Treasurer) and S.J. Ashok (Public Relations Officer).
Speaking after being elected as the Association President, B.S. Prashanth said that Mysuru is a favourite city of tourists, both domestic and international. Stressing on the need for attracting more number of tourists, he said that new plans must be made for this. Pointing out that the tourists must be introduced to lesser-known tourist spots in the city, district and the region, he said that all stakeholders should make efforts to ensure that Mysuru has a firm and permanent standing in the global tourism map.
Karnataka Tourism Forum Vice-President Ravi speaking, as the chief guest on the occasion, suggested some changes and upgradation in Mysuru tourism plans for giving a big boost. Emphasising on the need for better civic amenities at hotels to drivers of tourist vehicles, he said that the drivers must also be educated on how to deal with tourists who come from far off places.
He also underlined the need for organising a workshop for tourist vehicle drivers in order to sensitize them on the importance of better tourist experiences.
The Association’s Immediate Past-President Jayaprakash Raj Urs, Hon. President C.A. Jayakumar and others were present on the occasion.
