Mysuru: H.S. Arun Kumar was elected as the President of Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Golf Club (JWGC) for the year 2025-26 in the elections held at the Golf Club House in city on Sunday.

Out of the total 1,173 valid ballots, Arun Kumar secured 738 votes defeating his competitor H.D. Thimmappa Gowda, who managed to poll in 435 votes.

Meanwhile, M.S. Yeshwanth, who secured 459 votes, was re-elected as Captain of the Club defeating K.A. Anil Kumar (373 votes), H.C. Subramanya (261 votes) and M.R. Mohan Kumar (80 votes).

K.S. Sudheer Bhat was elected unanimously as Hon. Secretary while D.V. Sridhar was elected as the Hon. Treasurer with 627 votes defeating B.M. Prakash (546 votes).

For the elections held to the Committee Members, M.S. Dinesh Kumar (991 votes), Phalguna V. Urs (959 votes) and Suresh Balaram (787 votes) were elected from the Playing Category while M.G. Chengappa (812 votes), K.N. Mahadevaswamy (688 votes) and M.A. Manjunath (575 votes) were elected from Open Category.

Sonam Chugh (782 votes),  Sunil Kothari (559 votes), K.S. Anil (449 votes), and N.K. Guru (436 votes) could not make it to the Committee, according to a press release.
