Mysuru: Member of the erstwhile Mysore Royal family Trishikha Kumari Wadiyar inaugurated the new Operation Theatre (OT) at People For Animals (PFA) premises in Roopanagar recently.
Speaking on the occasion, Divya Dinesh, Trustee of Ashraya Hastha Trust and Animal Welfare Crusader, who has sponsored the facility, said, “This OT will provide life-saving care to thousands of injured and sick animals, ensuring they receive the treatment they need.”
This project was supported of Ashraya Hastha Trust, a key advocate for animal welfare in India. It collaborates with organisations to enhance the well-being of both domestic and wild animals, drive research, and develop sustainable care models.
PFA, a leading animal welfare organisation in city, has been tirelessly working to rescue, treat and rehabilitate injured, sick and abandoned animals.

The new OT will enhance PFA’s ability to perform life-saving surgeries, improve recovery rates and ensure better medical outcomes for animals in distress.
Dr. Madhavi, a PFA Trustee based in the US, has donated essential medical equipment while Kokila Jain of Jeev Daya Jain Charity has contributed two operation tables.
The new OT aims to treat more than 10,000 animals annually, providing essential medical interventions for stray and rescued animals, as well as those in permanent sanctuary care.
Supriya, niece of PFA Trustee Dr. Madhavi, Savitha Nagabhushan, PFA Trustee, veterinarians and staff were present. For details, contact Mob: 98456-54429.
