Newborn found near a well dies

Mysuru: A newborn baby boy, which was found wrapped in a piece of cloth and placed near a well at Sahukarahundi village on Sunday morning, died while being shifted to a hospital.

After the baby boy was found at about 8 am on Sunday, Anganwadi worker Roopa informed Senior Supervisor Parvathi at the Office of the Child Development Project Officer.

Following instructions from Parvathi, the Anganwadi worker summoned an ambulance and shifted the newborn baby boy to Cheluvamba Hospital in Mysuru, where the doctors examined the baby and declared it as dead.

Based on the complaint from Parvathi, Yelwal Police, who have registered a case, are trying to trace the parents of the deceased baby.
