Mysuru: Dr. Sunil S.R. Gaekwad (36), Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering and Deputy Dean at The National Institute of Engineering (NIE), Mysuru and residing near Vivekananda Circle, passed away following brief illness in city last night.

He is survived by his mother Sunanda, sister Dr. Shivali Gaekwad, a dentist and a host of colleagues, students, relatives and friends. His father Surendra Rao Gaekwad had predeceased him a few years ago. Last rites were performed at the foot of Chamundi Hill this afternoon, according to family sources.
