Mysuru: The National Institute of Engineering (NIE), Mysuru, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with JK Tyre to foster collaboration in research, innovation, student engagement and technology development. 

The MoU was formally signed by Dr. Rohini Nagapadma, Principal, The National Institute of Engineering (NIE), Mysuru and Dr. Arun Jaura, Chief Technology Officer, JK Tyre, Mysuru.  

Dr. Anand Srivatsa, Dr. Sharath Chandra and Dr. V. Vikram Athreya from NIE, along with Dr. Prasenjit Ghosh, Director and other officers from JK Tyre, were present on the occasion. 

As part of the initial phase of collaboration, discussions have been initiated on projects related to Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based tyre surface defect detection and predictive analytics.  

These projects are expected to provide students with hands-on experience in emerging technologies while addressing practical industrial requirements.
