Mysore/Mysuru: The National Institute of Engineering (NIE), Mysuru, in collaboration with Tec4Fuels GmbH, Germany and OWI Science for Fuels GmbH, Germany, has organised an ‘International Conclave on Clean Fuels-2022’ at Silent Shores, Mysuru, on Nov. 2 and 3.
It will deliberate on the strides India has made in Biofuels in the last 8 years with the adoption of National Biofuel Policy 2018 and the programmes initiated by Government of India. The conclave will provide a platform to look at national targets, priorities and opportunities for investment. The two-day conference will be a platform to inform entrepreneurs and investors about national goals, priorities and opportunities. It will act as a bridge between technologists, researchers, academicians, venture capital investors, policy makers and non-governmental organizations.
Along with technical lecture and group discussion, there will also be introduction of organisations already working in this field. Poster presentation competition has been organised for the students to help instil new ideas about clean fuels in the future generation.
Y.B. Ramakrishna (Expert and Member, Biofuel Working Committee) of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, will be the member of the advisory committee of the conference. S. Shamasundar, Head of NIE CREST will be the convener.
In addition, the other members of the advisory committee are N. Satyakumar (Member NIE Managing Committee), Dr. Klaus Lucka of Tech4Fuels, Germany, Dr. N. V. Raghavendra (Retired Principal, NIE), M.K. Monappa (Retired Managing Director, KSBDB) and Anil Kumar Nadigeyar (Director, Energy Expert RachanaEnerCare).
The Conclave will be inaugurated on Nov. 2 at Silent Shores Senate Hall at 9.30 am.
Dr. M.S. Ranganath, President, NIE Managing Committee, N. Satyakumar, Member, NIE-MC and Principal Prof. Rohini Nagapadma will be present at the inaugural ceremony.
K. S. Kiran Kumar, Chairman (Karnataka State Bioenergy Development Board, Government of Karnataka) will be the chief guest. Keynote address will be delivered by Y.B. Ramakrishna and then by Dr. Klaus Lucka.
Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Transport and Highways, will be the special guest at the virtual event. He will address the gathering online and also unveil a “Portable Micro Grid” designed by NIE.
