March 26, 2019

Mandya: A letter purportedly written by Mandya SP Shivaprakash Devaraj asking the CESC authorities to ensure uninterrupted power supply across the district during the filing of nomination by JD(S)-Congress coalition candidate Nikhil Kumaraswamy has led to controversy.

The SP, in his letter, is said to have asked for uninterrupted power supply at Mandya city during the CM’s visit to Mandya to be part of the filing of nomination of his son Nikhil and also at Maddur and Mandya TBs, Mandya District Hospital, where the CM was scheduled to attend a programme.

The letter also directed CESC officials to deploy experienced and responsible staff at all places where the CM would visit and also to have a generator as a standby to meet any emergencies. This letter has led to controversy and debates among locals.
