Nine members of a family fall ill after consuming butter milk

Mysuru:  Nine members of a family, including three children, fell ill after consuming butter milk at an agricultural farm in Gundlupet taluk yesterday.

50-year old Mahadevashetty’s family from Basavapura in Gundlupet taluk of Chamarajangar district consumed butter milk after having lunch at a farm in Basavapura at about 2.30pm yesterday. But minutes later, Mahadevashetty and his family members by name Nagashetty, Bellamma, Akhil, Subash, Kishore, Nagasundari and two other members fell sick, following which they were rushed to Gundlupet General Hospital, from where they were shifted to KR Hospital last night.

Following the treatment, all the nine are recovering and are likely to be discharged from the hospital later this evening or tomorrow, according to K.R. Hospital sources.
