No BPL card for families with annual income of over Rs. 1.2 lakh

Mysuru: Food and Civil Supplies Deputy Director Dr. K. Rameshwarappa has said that as per the latest Government order, families having annual income of over Rs. 1.2 lakh are not eligible to get BPL cards.

Speaking at the KDP meeting at Zilla Panchayat (ZP) Hall here recently, Dr. Rameshwarappa said that the District Administration had so far received 80,349 applications for BPL card.

However, only the families having annual income of less than Rs. 1.2 lakh are eligible for BPL cards and this was the fifth criteria for getting the BPL card, he said and added that the problems in the computer software for generation of BPL cards will be solved soon.
