No closure of Government schools: Minister

Kalaburagi: Asserting that there was no question of closing down Government Schools for want of student strength, Primary and Secondary Education Minister N. Mahesh has said that the Government’s top most priority will be to provide quality education in schools.

Speaking to press persons here yesterday, he said that there was also no question of merger of Government schools.

Maintaining that Government Schools will continue to function, no matter whatever the student number, Mahesh said the Government has planned to start LKG and UKG classes and also teaching of English as a language in Government schools.

Observing that imparting quality and creative education will help transform Government Schools, the Minister said that the process is underway for appointment of 10,000 teachers.
