No concern for fellow motorists?

April 4, 2018

Sir,

It is being observed very frequently at many Circles that several pedestrians as well as vehicle users are ignoring the red signal. It made me to think whether such pedestrians and vehicle users are becoming colour-blind momentarily as soon as they reach the Circles. Thus they are violating road safety rules and risking the life of other motorists too.

In some cases motorists stop for a moment and proceed further even on red signal as soon as the Traffic Police or Traffic Warden moves to other side to control traffic. In another type of violation when green signal is on to proceed towards left side, vehicle users are proceeding straight against red signal and obstructing the movement of vehicles coming from their right side. On last Thursday, many pedestrians had a narrow escape due to signal jumping by a blue colour goods auto and several two wheelers at K.R. Circle (north point). Many pedestrians do not know the location of signals for them at K.R. Circle.

This clearly indicates that they do not have any concern towards their fellow citizens. If these people are in such a hurry to reach their destination, it is better they start early and reach safely without violating road safety rules.
