No Dengue case detected in district, says DHO

Mysuru:  Marking National Dengue Day, hundreds of nursing students and staff of Health Department took out an awareness rally in city yesterday under the aegis of Department of Health and Family Welfare.

The rally was flagged off by District Health Officer (DHO) Dr. R. Venkatesh at the Primary Health Centre in Old Agrahara and passed through Chamaraja Double Road, Vani Vilas Road and Narayana Shastri Road back to the starting point.

The DHO said that the district was free of any dengue case as of now. He advised people to prevent stagnation of water near houses especially during rainy season. He asked people not to go panic on detection of dengue which is treated free at Government Hospitals.

District Vector-borne Diseases Control Officer Dr. Chidambara, District Family Welfare Officer Dr. Mohammed Siraj, District Cholera Control Officer Dr. Umesh, District TB Control Officer Dr. Ravi, District Surveillance Officer Dr. Kusuma and others were present.
