No gifts please, says Minister

July 13, 2017

Mysuru: Known for her simplicity and straight-forwardness, Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today rejected expensive gifts that were offered to her during her Mysuru visit.

Corporator Girish Prasad had purchased a 9-inch tall sandalwood idol of Lord Krishna with a flute worth  Rs. 9,000.

As he presented it to Nirmala Sitharaman, she declined to accept it. Even much persuasion by party leaders and workers failed to impress her and it was a firm no from her.
