No illumination, sound & light programme at Mysore Palace till further orders

Mysore/Mysuru: Deputy Director of Mysore Palace Board T.S. Subramanya has clarified that there will be no illumination of Palace on Sundays and public holidays and sound and light programme till further orders.

He told SOM that hundreds of people gather at the Palace to witness the illumination. But, the State Government has not given permission yet for the Palace illumination and sound and light show in view of COVID crisis. In view of this, tourists or citizens should not come to the Palace till the Palace Board issues a notification in this regard.

Subramanya said that the Government has given permission only for the re-opening of Palace that too with strict COVID guidelines. Tourists are allowed inside the Palace only after thermal screening to check temperature and checking of oxygen level by oximeter.
