The decision was taken at the General Body Meeting of the Samaja held yesterday.
The resolution was passed by General Body and there will also be restrictions on consuming liquor during the ‘Ganga Puja’ during a marriage.
The Samaja will impose a fine of Rs. 25,000 if anyone is found consuming liquor during the ‘Muhurtha’ and ‘Ganga Puja’, Kalimada Motaiah, President of the Ponnampet Kodava Samaj told reporters.
It may be recalled here that the Ponnampet Kodava Samaja had imposed restrictions on cutting a cake, opening champagne and not allowing bridegrooms to sport beards and brides not to let their hair loose during the ceremony.
