Mysore/Mysuru: ‘Students have to emphasise the importance of taking career seriously and to acquire potentiality for further education beyond earning a degree. They are to be responsible citizens and should not expect the success as a defined monetary achievement,’ said Dr. Sridevi Annapurna Singh, Director of the CSIR-Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysuru.
She was speaking after inaugurating ‘Deeksharambh: UG Students Induction Programme 2023-24’ organised by JSS College of Arts, Commerce and Science, Ooty Road, recently.
She urged the students to consider life as a journey rather than a mere competition, striving to become the best version of themselves. Dr. Sridevi encouraged students by citing India’s recent achievements in Asian Games as an example of what can be accomplished through hard work and dedication.
Sharing the historical context of Mysore Maharaja’s role in establishing CFTRI in 1950, she highlighted the ongoing issue of insufficient food access for women and children and recommended that education be paired with a focus on personal health, advocating for the consumption of nutritious food.
Chief Executive of the College, Prof. B.V. Sambashivaiah presided. Principal Dr. S. Prathibha welcomed. The IQAC Coordinator Dr. N. Rajendraprasad proposed a vote of thanks. Dr. L.
