Mysore/Mysuru: Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC) has set up Nodal Centres in Mysuru and Dharwad in collaboration with Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Institute for Management Development (SDM-IMD), Mysuru.

The Nodal Centre in Mysuru will be called the BCIC SDM-IMD Centre for Excellence in Management Studies and will focus on holding corporate programmes, training sessions, workshops and leadership conclaves with the support of the corporate executives of the member Institutions of BCIC.  A similar centre is being set up in Dharwad called the BCIC Shri Dharmasthala University Centre for Excellence.

Minister for Large & Medium Scale Industries Jagadish Shettar, who inaugurated the Nodal Centre in Bengaluru on July 15, said the efforts of industrial development and skill development should reach the Tier-II and III cities more effectively.

Lauding the efforts of Ban-galore Chamber of Industry and Commerce and Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Group for establishing the Nodal Centres, he said such initiatives will help industries and skill enhancement among youths in other parts of the State.

Speaking on the occasion, Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala and Chairman of SDM Education Trust Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade acknowledged the great work being carried out by BCIC and expressed hope that the collaboration with SDM-IMD will bring forth new areas of exposure to students.
