This is to bring to the notice of the authorities concerned regarding the non-functional traffic signal lights at Akka Mahadevi Road Junction in JP Nagar. No action whatsoever has been taken on this matter till date.

The traffic signal lights were installed more than eight months back, but are not being switched on regularly now  in spite of being found to be in working condition.

They were switched on for only a few hours on 3 or 4 days. One fails to understand the reason for non-functioning of signal lights.

This is proving to be a big risk to both motorists and pedestrians alike. Also, there is utter chaos at any given time at this junction, with both motorists and pedestrians vying for space.

 It is learnt that the contractor has not been paid his dues for maintenance of traffic signals.

I urge the authorities to prioritise this issue and take immediate steps to make the traffic signal operational. The safety of numerous drivers and pedestrians depend on proper functioning of traffic control measures.
