August 18, 2026

Mysuru: Alleging that their recruiting agency had failed to disburse pending salaries running up to over four months, more than a 100 contractual (outsourced) cleanliness workers, security guards and other house keeping staff serving at K.R. Hospital, Cheluvamba Hospital and all other hospitals coming under Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMC&RI), staged a demonstration under the banner of AIUTC, in front of the Administrative Block of MMC&RI here yesterday.

“The contractor who had employed us has not paid salaries for over four months. As a result, it has become difficult to lead our normal lives. As contractual workers, the mandated benefits are limited to a large extent. Now, we are being forced to work without pay.  The authorities should intervene and ensure that guaranteed amount of salaries are disbursed on time,” the protesters maintained.
