NPS International School Team wins Apollo ‘Spot A Stroke’ Quiz 2022

Mysuru: Apollo BGS Hospitals created awareness on stroke this ‘World Stroke Day’   (Oct. 29) by organising a quiz competition for School and College students of Mysuru city recently.

Nearly 5,000 students from 26 schools participated in the prelims round held at the respective schools that culminated with the Top-6 schools reaching the grand finale held at Vijnana Bhavan Auditorium in Manasagangothri.

RJ Avinash and Apollo BGS Hospitals Consultant Neurologist Dr. Somanatha Vasudeva hosted the quiz.

The 12 winners, a team of 2 each, from the Top-6 schools, are as follows: Winners (Rs. 20,000): NPS International students S.K. Achinth and Chahel M. Jain; First Runners-up (Rs. 15,000): Vijaya Vittala students V.J. Abishayana and M.P. Nishanth; Second Runners-up (Rs. 10,000): Sadvidya High School students Aishwarya Raj and K.S. Meghana Gowda; Consolation Prize (Rs. 2,000 per team): Sadvidya PU College’s K. Ronak Soni and S. Shivaraju, St. Rosello’s Pratiksha B. Jain and K. Lavanya, St. Joseph’s Koushik M. Vasani and Nripan.

N.G. Bharateesha Reddy, Vice-President & Unit Head, Apollo BGS Hospitals, said:  “To spread awareness about Stroke amongst the young minds, the quiz ‘Apollo Spot A Stroke’ contest was organised. We have been striving to treat stroke patients in the city, providing them with timely care at our dedicated STROKE READY UNIT by offering comprehensive stroke management services with state-of-the-art technology and highly skilled Neuro & Interventional Stroke Team round-the-clock. There is very little awareness of Stroke and it is our social responsibility to reach out to the people,” he added.

Neurologists from Apollo BGS Hospitals, Mysuru, Dr. Somanatha Vasudeva, Head of Institutes of Neurosciences and Consultant Neurologist, Dr. Aumir Moin, Senior Consultant Neurologist, Dr. Shankar, Consultant Neurologist and Dr. Vinay Hegde, Consultant Neuro Interventional Radiologist spoke about treatment modalities and practical facts about Stroke to the audience. Students, Faculties and Parents were present during the event. Earlier in the day, Stroke cured patients shared their experience at the hospital.
