NR Community Centre distributes skill training certificates to trainees

Mysuru: NR Centre for Community Development (NRCCD), an initiative by NR Foundation, conducted a 2-month employability skill training for Maharani’s College students, 3-month tailoring training for rag-picking women in Kurubarahalli and a 10-day paper bag-making training for visually impaired youths.

Totally 83 candidates were trained ­— Employability-63, tailoring-15 and paper bag-making-7. Certificates were distributed to all 63 students who completed Employability Skill and Vocational Skill training at the event held at Maharani’s Women’s Commerce and Management College Auditorium.

The College also received Tally software and 30 park benches from the NR Foundation as part of their CSR initiative.

Speaking on the occasion, R. Guru, Chairman, NR Group said, “We at NR Foundation believe that skill is better than strength and we are committed towards uplifting the weaker sections of society by providing them employability skill training. With this, we boost their confidence to become employed, run their family and be able to support themselves.”

Kiran Ranga, Director, NR Group said, “Our goal is to inspire the young students to believe in themselves. While interacting with the students, we encouraged them to support the weaker sections of society. The certification programme was held to make the students believe in the value of education and skills.”

Dr. Mahadeva Swamy, College Principal, Prof. Krishna Murthy, Department of Kannada, Prof.Somanna, HoD of Commerce, Dr. S. Manju, HoD of M.Com and Dr. Ravi Shankar, HoD of MBA,  were present on the occasion.
