Nypunya School’s civic initiative for students

Mysore/Mysuru: Nypunya School of Excellence in R.T. Nagar recently organised a civic awareness campaign for its students, taking them on a tour of various city localities. This initiative reflects the school’s innovative approach to providing a platform for students to develop into responsible citizens.

During the campaign, students were exposed to issues such as footpath encroachment, unstable electric poles, potholes, waste management challenges, poorly maintained public toilets and violations of no-parking zones. The students documented these issues through both written notes in their books and recorded them on camera.

Seeking solutions, they sought guidance from their teachers, who accompanied them to relevant departments. Beyond academic education, fostering a socially aware citizen is an integral aspect of a comprehensive education system.

The campaign serves as a foundation for a forthcoming program titled ‘Poura Pragne Nanna Karthavya-Prashnisuvudu Nanna Hakku’ (Civic Awareness Is My Duty- Questioning Is My Right), as explained by the Conveners of the School Civic Awareness Campaign, S. Poojashree and H.M. Bhargavi.

Teachers S. Manjula, Elizabeth, Dechamma, Varsha, Archana, Rakshita, and Shubavati guided and accompanied the students during this initiative.
