Mysuru: World Environment Day was celebrated by The Organisation for the Development of People (ODP), Bannimantap, with the theme ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’ at St. Philomena’s Church in city recently.

Archbishop Emeritus and Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Mysore Most Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras, who addressed the gathering emphasised that every individual has a shared responsibility to care for creation and urged everyone to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives.

Dr. Bernard Moras encouraged everyone to save water and electricity, plant and nurture saplings, practice proper waste management, reduce the use of plastic, use cotton bags instead of plastic ones and promote eco-friendly habits within families and communities.

ODP Director Rev. Fr. Alex Prashanth Sequeira, Rev. Fr. Tenny Kurrian, Rev. Fr. John Fernandez, ODP staff and others were present.
