Omission of names from voters list: HC quashes PIL filed by S.A. Ramdas

December 2, 2017

Mysuru: The High Court has quashed the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by former Minister S.A. Ramdas alleging that the names of about 26,000 people were deliberately omitted from the voters list.

Ramdas had alleged in the PIL that the omission of names in KR, NR and Chamaraja Constituencies was deliberate with involvement of local Congress Legislators. He had also complained to the Election Commission in that context.

The PIL was quashed after examining by Judges H.G. Ramesh and P.S. Dinesh Kumar of the Divisional Bench of the High Court.
