On Swachhta Mission…

The 7th week “Swachha Mysuru - Swastha Jeevana” programme, launched by Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama for 40 weeks, was held on Sunday at seven different spots of JSS Layout, Vidyanagar and Raghavendranagar. Swami Atmajnanandaji, Adhyaksha, Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysuru, Swami Kamalanandaji of Ramakrishna Math, Bengaluru, Swami Atmagatanandaji of Ramakrishna Mission, Itanagar, D. Madegowda, former MLC, Nataraj, Corporator, inaugurated the campaign. About 250 volunteers, 50 local citizens participated in the campaign. As part of Swachh Bharat campaign, Mayor M.J. Ravikumar launched a cleanliness drive at the park in front of JSS High School in Vijayanagar 2nd Stage here on Sunday. The campaign was organised by Vijayanagar 2nd Stage Residents Welfare Association with residents and morning walkers taking part in the cleanliness drive.

Speaking on the occasion, Ravikumar said that Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) was extending all support for citizens and organisations to keep the city clean so that it could bag the ‘Cleanest city’ tag for the third time in a row.

Former Dy. Mayor Mahadevappa, Assn. President Shivegowda, Secretary Nagaraj, Treasurer Harsha and others participated in the cleanliness drive.
