Mysore/Mysuru: Vijayanagar Police have arrested a youth on charges of stabbing another youth to death over petty reasons near Krishnadevaraya Circle at Vijayanagar 2nd Stage last night.

While the arrested youth has been identified as 22-year-old Manoj of Manchegowdanakoppal, the deceased youth is 19-year-old Chiranth.

On Tuesday night, when Chiranth and Manoj were sipping tea near Krishnadevaraya Circle, a fight broke out between them and Manoj allegedly stabbed Chiranth and fled from the spot. Though Chiranth was rushed to a private hospital, he succumbed to injuries.

Vijayanagar Inspector Balakrishna and staff, who were combing the locality in search of the accused, nabbed the accused and are interrogating.
