One arrested for stealing two-wheelers, mobile phones

Three scooters, 10 mobile phones worth Rs. 3.7 lakh recovered

Mysore/Mysuru: Ashokapuram Police, on Oct. 4, have arrested a 24-year-old youth on charges of lifting two-wheelers and stealing mobile phones. The Police have recovered three Honda Activa scooters and 10 mobile phones of various companies from the accused.

The accused is Prasanna, a resident of Davani Street in Hunsur town. During interro-gation, the accused is said to have confessed of lifting two-wheelers from Ashokapuram, Saraswathipuram and Krishnaraja (KR) Police limits and stealing mobile phones through open windows of houses at Ashokapuram, Srirampura, Aravindanagar, K.G. Koppal and Kuvempunagar.

Based on the information provided by the accused, the Police have recovered three Honda Activa scooters and 10 mobile phones, all worth Rs. 3.7 lakh from him. Following the arrest, the Police have solved once case each at Ashokapuram, Saraswathipuram and K.R. Police Stations. Cases of lifting vehicles have been registered against the accused earlier too.

DCP M.S. Geetha Prasanna and K.R. Sub-Division ACP Poornachandra Tejaswi supervised Ashokapuram Inspector B.S. Prakash, ASI K.S. Geetha and staff  V. Ramesh, K.V. Anand, M.A. Raghavendra, B.M. Mahadevaiah, Girish, Raju, Manu and Pavan in the nabbing and recovery operation, according to a press release from the PRO, City Police Commissioner’s Office, Mysuru.
