Mysore/Mysuru: Lashkar Police have arrested a youth on charges of murdering his co-worker and decamping with 12-kg silver. The Police have recovered 12-kg silver worth Rs. 8 lakh from the accused.

The arrested youth has been identified as Arjun Kumar while the victim is Govind, both from Rajasthan. Arjun had murdered Govind and had fled to Rajasthan with the silver.

Govind, who had taken order to undertake silver works at a Jain Temple in city, had brought Arjun to assist him. To undertake silver works at the Temple, the Jain Temple head Berumal had given 14-kg silver to Govind.

Govind and Arjun were staying at a room in Halladakeri and were undertaking silver works in the Temple. On Apr. 27, Govind was found dead in a pool of blood in the room and it looked like the ceiling fan had detached and fallen on the head of Govind. But neither Arjun nor the silver was found in the room, following which a complaint was lodged at Lashkar Police Station.

Lashkar Police, who had registered a case, began their investigation and came to know that Arjun was seen in a city at Rajasthan. A team of Police from Lashkar Police Station, which left for Rajasthan, arrested Arjun and recovered 12-kg silver worth Rs. 8 lakh from him.
