Mysore/Mysuru: One person tending his cattle was killed while two others sustained injuries when a swarm of bees attacked them at Hosathoravalli and Belaganahalli villages in H.D. Kote taluk.

The deceased has been identified as Chikkamalegowda (65), the other two, identified as Beeregowda and Shankaranaika, fell unconscious due to bee stings.

The swarm of bees first attacked Chikkamalegowda, who was looking after the cattle and then attacked Beeregowda and Shankaranaika, who were watering the crops.

Though all the three were rushed to a hospital, Chikkamalegowda breathed his last midway, while the other two are undergoing treatment at a private hospital.

It may be recalled that on Dec. 16 last year, a swarm of bees attacked people at Mini Vidhana Soudha in H.D. Kote injuring four people. Villagers said that they were admitted to a local hospital where they had recovered.
