One law for all?

Or does a flag make a difference?

Sir,

Today, while sitting in my shop, I witnessed something that raises a serious question about equality in traffic enforcement.

A Traffic Inspector and a Constable locked the front wheel of one car shortly after it arrived. Around five minutes later, another car arrived with a flag on its bonnet, but no similar action appeared to be taken.

I do not know whether any official exemption applied, but the apparent difference raises some important questions:

Are traffic rules the same for everyone, regardless of status or influence?

Does carrying a flag exempt a vehicle from traffic enforcement? If so, under which rule?

Who ensures that traffic laws are enforced fairly and consistently?

I request the Mysuru Traffic Police Department to clarify the applicable rules and ensure that enforcement remains impartial.

A uniform deserves respect and that respect grows when the law is applied equally to all.

ONE ROAD. ONE LAW. EQUAL ACCOUNTABILITY.
