Online Video Making contest on Social Issues held

Mysore/Mysuru: Emporia, the Marketing Club of Department of MBA, GSSS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women (GSSSIETW), Mysuru, had organised an online Video Making Competition “Camera Rolling Action!” with the theme “Social Issues” on Feb. 7.

The event was conducted online and had invited entries from different PG and UG Colleges. The purpose of the event was to make an impact on young minds about prevailing social issues, which resulted in receiving several videos on topics like Drug Addiction, Poverty, Depression, Domestic Violence etc.

The event was judged by Srilakshmi Varma, Lead UI/UX designer at Zivame, Bengaluru, who has over 15 years of experience in design and branding and served as an Art Director at leading advertising agencies. 

Prize-winners: The competition had overwhelming response by participants. Allen Denny and Sucheta Bhattacharya from School of Business and Management, Christ University, Bengaluru, won the first prize while J. Meghana and D. Amogh of B.N. Bahadur Institute of Management Sciences, Mysuru, won the second prize.

The participants were judged based on the criteria like Originality and Creativity, Technical Quality, Visual Appeal, Narrative and  Impact. The winners were awarded with cash prizes.

Dr. G. Nagalingappa, Professor & Head, Department of MBA and Director – Strategic Initiatives, GSSSIETW, welcomed. S. Souparnika, Assistant Professor, introduced the judge. Dr. Aparna J. Varma, Associate Professor, proposed a vote of thanks. K.V. Shambhavi of III Sem – Marketing, compered             the programme.
