Open drain near school is a blot on ‘Clean City’

January 14, 2026

Sir,

This is regarding an open drain which is flowing into an open space where hundreds of people walk every day and also, there is a school adjacent to it. This is near the under-bridge on KRS Road, close to Mandovi Motors.

Kids of that school are finding it very difficult to sit in class because of foul smell and the sight of it is very disgusting. Looks like the drainage is coming from the hotel behind the school.

We are all responsible citizens of this country and we have always had a pride that Namma Mysuru is a clean city. But things like this are a big black mark on the city’s beauty.

Hope the MCC, which is gearing up for Swachh Survekshan, will look into it and solve the problem at the earliest.
