Operation Cheetah: 4,504 cases booked, Rs. 5,02,400 fine imposed

Mysuru: Continuing their crackdown on traffic rules offenders in city through ‘Operation Cheetah,’ the City Traffic Police which conducted the operation on Nov.4 between 12 noon and 2.30 pm at various places in city, have booked a total of 4,504 cases and have collected Rs. 5,02,400 as fines from the traffic rules violators.

As traffic rules violations are on the rise in city, ‘Operation Cheetah’ would be conducted on any day and any time and the Police are intensifying the operation to crackdown on traffic violators.

As such, motorists are requested to carry their Driving Licenses (DLs) and vehicle documents and co-operate with the Police during the operation, according to a press release from the City Police Commissioner’s office.

Operation Chamundi

Siddarthanagar and K.R. Traffic Police in a joint operation coined ‘Operation Chamundi,’ registered 312 traffic violation cases and recovered a fine of Rs.34,200 in a short spell of three hours from 4 pm to 7 pm on Saturday in the vicinity of Chamundi Hill.

Two bikes running with modified silencers too were seized by the Police during the operation fetching a fine of Rs.2,200.

The inspections were held near Thavarekatte, Nandi Statue and on Uttanahalli Road.

The shrubs obscuring the signboards on the road to the Hill too were got cleared, according to a press release from the City Police Commissioner’s office.
