As the mouth is the gateway of the body, all the infections in the mouth can get carried into the body increasing the risk of many systemic problems,” said Dr. Pratibha Garla, Joint Secretary of Indian Dental Association (IDA), Mysuru Branch.

She was delivering a talk on ‘Guide to Dental Health Care’ organised by Institution of Engineers India (IEI) at its premises on JLB Road here recently and explained the various dental health problems faced by people.

She took the audience through the basic structural aspects of Oral Health Practices, the problems associated, the various modern treatment techniques, methods of preventing dental problems by following simple tips and techniques of proper brushing, thus removing the myths and fear associated with dentistry.

IEI Mysuru Chairman Dr. R. Suresh presided. IEI Mysuru Hon. Secretary D.K. Dinesh Kumar welcomed the gathering and introduced the guest speaker. IDA Mysuru Secretary Dr. Bharat and others were present.
