Mysuru: In yet another online fraud, a senior citizen of the city has been duped of Rs. 30 lakh in the name of Organic Bio-chemical trading business.
The victim, a 73-year-old senior citizen of Saraswathipuram received a WhatsApp call from a person, identifying himself as Dr. Natalia Maari, on July 28, who informed that huge profits can be earned from trading in Organic Bio-chemicals manufactured by Igyxos Biotherapeutics.
Later, another person, named Priyank Sharma, called him to inform that Organic products are available at S. Enterprises of Sikkim. Subsequently, the two callers got transferred a total amount of Rs. 30 lakh to separate bank accounts on different dates in return for delivery of the promised liquid Bio-organic chemicals. They assured that the consignment will be despatched through courier.
As he was awaiting the products, another person, who introduced himself as Marques Petic, called him to inform that 20 more litres of the product had to be purchased after lab test, when the senior citizen got suspicious. He then called Cyber Crime Helpline No. 1930 and lodged a complaint at the CEN Police Station.
